Legat’s sire is Lanthan. Lanthan is known around Germany for his production of good mares, riding horses, and seen in the pedigree of stallion candidates. Lanthan’s German breeding record shows 1268 recorded offspring in 2007 which include 378 mares of which 68 are States Premium Mares. In addition to Legat, Lanthan had 15 keured sons, 9 of which became Stallions for the Hanoverian book: Legat, Logo Navaro, Lanthano, Landjager, Lateiner, Limbo, Lanio, Latent, and Love Dream. In competition Dressage horses winning over 10,000 Euro are listed: Birkhofs Lantahno, La Boom, Lapis Lazuli, Life von Weyhe, and Lemmi’s Lanio. The World Cup horse Lengrini comes to mind and then for 2000 in the Young Horse Bundeschampionat for jumping we see 1st in the 6yr old Cyrenaika FRH by Cheenook out of a Lanthan mare, and in the 5yr olds Lavazzo by Lanthan 5th. In 2007 Legat had 318 Dressage competiton horses to his record with 7352 placings, and 245 jumping horses with 5588 placings. In the United States, in the Sire Index recorded since 1988 the 2000 list of Dressage sires shows Lanthan in the top rankings with 12 USDF Horse of The Year placings from his offspring. In the German competition Lanthan shows 134 pts in the index for Dressage and 130 pts for jumping. In total the 2000 yearbook credits him with 225 offspring competing in the sport with 4841 placings. He has 14 licensed sons, and the mare book indexing credits him with 134 index points for type and. 124 index points for conformation.
