About Greengate Farm LLC

Established by Warren and Rachel Ehrlich in 1989, Greengate Farm is focused exclusively on the breeding and sales of premium quality warmblood sport horses. Our breeding program is based on top Hanoverian bloodlines from Germany, a natural development from the great love of the mares that came to reside at Greengate.

Greengate also maintains a small breeding operation in Germany through a longstanding relationship with Hof Bruening, a premier breeding farm located near Verden in the heart of the Hanoverian breeding area.

Our focus on quality, not quantity, has resulted in numerous national Year-end Awards from the USDF as well as various breed associations.

Our Facility

Greengate is located in the tranquil agricultural community of New Braintree, Massachusetts. The main farm houses the mare foaling and breeding barn, which includes 12 spacious stalls for sales and training horses. The barn is ideally set up to allow separate sand/clay paddocks for horses, with gated access to grass areas. Much of our 20 acres consists of large fields equipped with 12’×24’ loafing sheds for the horses’ comfort when out on pasture. The farm also includes an additional 50-acre parcel with lush fields and forest trails, available for grazing and future development.
The main house includes guest accommodations for clients visiting their horses and an apartment for apprentices sent by Hof Bruening to work with the young horses. Stable Manager Tracy Brearley oversees the daily schedule for the farm.

Our Services

Greengate stands three warmblood breeding stallions offering superior talent in the disciplines of dressage and jumping. Both Werbellin and Donarweiss ggf are proven FEI competitors and have sired the winners of numerous Year-end Awards. Our youngest stallion Cadbury ggf offers superior jumping bloodlines and talent for your mares
We offer a full range of services including:
• Reproductive services with a modern lab for breeding via fresh or frozen semen
• Broodmare foaling accommodations including 15’x24’ stalls complete with infrared heaters, foaling cams, Foalert systems, on-call veterinary services and 24-hour watch for imminently-due mares
• Young horse rearing program from weanling to 3 year old
• Select warmblood sales
